MOSCOW, October 9 (Itar-Tass) — A home for old people in the Kostroma region has gone on fire, the press service of the Central regional centre of the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations told Itar-Tass.

The home is located in Tikhon village. Firefighters received a fire alarm signal at 00:15 Moscow time.

There were 13 old people in the building. “The firefighters evacuated ten inmates but three are missing. None of the evacuated old people needed medical aid,” the source went on to say.

The evacuees have been temporarily sheltered at a local recreation centre.

The fire has been localized.
