KRASNODAR, October 8 (Itar-Tass) —— President Dmitry Medvedev cautioned against hasty conclusions and plans regarding his possible premiership after the upcoming presidential elections in March of next year.

“Let’s not anticipate things. I have a different job right now,” he said at a meeting with ruling United Russia party activists on Saturday, October 8. “If we all do well in all [Duma and presidential] elections, then we will talk about it [premiership].”

At a United Russia Congress in late September, Medvedev suggested nominating Prime Minister Vladimir Putin for the post of president in 2012.

Putin, in turn, believes that if United Russia wins the Duma elections in December 2011, Medvedev will become a new prime minister.
