KRASNODAR, October 8 (Itar-Tass) —— President Dmitry Medvedev said he hoped to meet new Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda as soon as possible.
When visiting a thermal power plant in Krasnodar on Saturday, October 8, Medvedev had a brief talk with the Japanese ambassador to Russia, who was also there at the moment. The ambassador conveyed the Japanese prime minister’s best regards and words that the two countries should strengthen bilateral cooperation.
“Give my best regards to the prime minister of Japan and say that I am looking forward to meeting him in order to start working and continuing the dialogue on all issues,” Medvedev said.
Japan’s Mitsubishi supplied equipment for the Krasnodar thermal power plant.
The president of Russia and the prime minister of Japan should attend a G-20 summit in Cannes in early November.
