MOSCOW, October 7 (Itar-Tass) —— An office of Russia’s Stroytransgaz was put under automatic gunfire in Homs, Syria, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Friday.
“The Stroytransgaz office in Homs, situated on the 8th floor of a highrise, was put under automatic gunfire early in the morning on October 5. Luckily, the criminal attack did not hurt anyone,” it said.
“The Russian embassy in Syria took measures to build up security of the company personnel and Russian citizens,” it said.
The ministry views the incident “as a confirmation to the fact that the irreconcilable Syrian opposition, which is trying to overthrow the Syrian regime with arms, has taken the path of terror against civilian population, companies and organizations, including those foreign, which provide the normal living of the country.”
“The use of terror methods deserves the strongest international condemnation. We confirm our appeal for the soonest end of violence in that country and the use of peaceful and political methods in the search for ways out of the Syrian crisis,” the ministry said.
