MOSCOW, October 7 (Itar-Tass) —— The Russian government has approved the Foreign Ministry’s proposal to simply visa formalities for Russian and U.S. citizens. The resolution was posted in the government’s e-databank on Friday.
The ministry’s memo to the U.S. embassy in Moscow concerns the terms of the issue of Russian business, private, humanitarian and tourist visas, U.S. B1/B2 visas and Russian and U.S. short-term visas for official trips.
The ministry allows for the reduction of the period of the issue of visas to three working days or less in the case of emergencies. Moscow will offer Washington to enlarge the validity period of B1/B2 multi-entry visas to 36 months.
The proposals were coordinated with federal executive agencies and discussed with the U.S. side, the resolution said.
