BAKU, October 7 (Itar-Tass) —— A memorandum on the activity of the French Development Agency in Azerbaijan was signed in Baku on Friday within the framework of a visit of French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
The document will bolster French investments in the economy of Azerbaijan, mostly in the non-oil sector.
Sarkozy held one-to-one negotiations with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. The chiefs of state “expressed satisfaction with the successful development of the bilateral relations in the political, economic and other spheres,” official sources said. “They stressed the significance of Nicolas Sarkozy’s visit for further strengthening of the relations between Azerbaijan and France.”
