MOSCOW, October 6 (Itar-Tass) — Abkhazian government will make active efforts to help the Russian citizens resolve ownership problems they come to face with in the young republic, President Alexander Ankvab said Thursday.
He is making the first official visit to Russia after his election to the post.
"It was us ourselves who raised the issue of Russian citizens' ownership problems at the talks with the Russian President," Ankvab said."The legislative nihilism that could be felt for some time was explained for by a range of postwar factors but we must level the field out."
"This lies in the field of responsibility of the Abkhazian side," he said. "We have a commission considering citizens' complaints. For instance, we find 25% of all the claims to be well-grounded."
"We're considering the ways of reacting to them with account of a need for concrete results." Ankvab said. "There will be a concrete result either in the form of restitution of rights or financial/material restitution."
"We do recognize the problem and we'll resolve it," he said.
