Remaining wildfire in Bratsk district to be put out Friday

Two out of three wildfires engulfing the area of 581 hectares were put out in the Bratsk district on Thursday

IRKUTSK, October 6 (Itar-Tass) — It is expected that the last remaining wildfire in Russian Irkutsk region’s Bratsk district will be put out on Friday, sources from the Russian Forestry Agency told Tass on Thursday.

The sources said plans had been to put out the remaining wildfires within Thursday. However, specialists failed to finish work before dusk, and work will continue on Friday morning.

The last remaining fire covering 450 hectares was localized 40 kilometres away from Bratsk. Ninety-seven specialists are putting out the fire, assisted by five units of hardware and an Il-18 tanker aircraft.
