MOSCOW, October 5 (Itar-Tass) —— The Federal Security Service investigation department completed the preliminary investigation in the criminal case against Tong Shenong, who is accused of espionage (Article 30 Part 3 and Article 276 of the Russian Criminal Code), a source in the public relations center of the Federal Security Service told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.
The Federal Security Service detained the foreigner in Moscow on October 28, 2010, the source said.
“The detectives found that the Chinese citizen on the orders from the Chinese State Security Ministry under the cover of an interpreter of official delegations was seeking to obtain the technological and repairing documentation of aircraft defence systems S-300, which contained the state secret, for remuneration,” the source said.
On October 4, the criminal case, in which the Prosecutor General’s Office approved the indictment, was passed to the Moscow City Court for merit proceedings.
