KALUGA, October 5 (Itar-Tass) —— Russia’s Avtokom, and Spain’s CIE Automotive and DOGA have set up a joint venture that will manufacture car components.
The new enterprise will be housed at the Kaluga-based car electric accessories plant. It will manufacture windscreen wipers, wind shield washer units, car climate control units, including heater fans and radiator cooling units.
The products will meet world quality standards and will be used by Russian car assembling plants of foreign car manufacturers, such as Volkswagen, Renault, Sollers, Fiat, Peugeot-Citroen, Mitsubishi, General Motors, and by plants of the Russian GAZ group and bus makers.
According to Vyacheslav Maleyev, the president of the Avtokom group, the group and Spain’s CIE Automotive already have several joint projects. “Thanks to the new agreement we will soon offer our partners our new-generation products,” he said. In his words, his company is adopting both Spanish technologies and its personnel training techniques.
