MOSCOW, October 4 (Itar-Tass) —— Russia has exported 9.2 million tonnes of grain since the beginning of this season, said speakers at a Tuesday meeting chaired by Agriculture Minister Yelena Skrynnik.
The minister said earlier that Russia planned to export about 20 million tonnes of grain in the current agricultural year. Traditionally, grain exports go to Egypt, Turkey, the EU, Azerbaijan and Israel.
Grain harvesting continues in Russia. As of now, 89.5 million tonnes of grain have been threshed in the bunker weight, including 55.8 million tonnes of wheat and 17.1 million tonnes of barley. The gross grain harvest is forecasted at 90 million tonnes.
