The most difficult fire situation is in the Bratsk region

IRKUTSK, October 4 (Itar-Tass) — A fire alert regime has been imposed in one more district of the Russian Irkutsk region over forest fires, a spokesman for the regional emergencies administration told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.

As of 17:00 local time (12:00 Moscow time), there were three forest fires on an overall area of 63 hectares in the Tulunsky district. The fires have been localized, the spokesman said.

In all, eighteen wildfires are reported in the area adjacent to Lake Baikal. Fire fighting operations involve 541 men and 84 units of hardware, including aircraft. The most difficult fire situation is in the Bratsk region.
