NIZHNY NOVGOROD, October 3 (Itar-Tass) —— The Frederic Joliot Curie passenger ship has caught fire in a water reserve off the city of Perm, the press service of the Volga regional center for emergency situations said.

The news about the fire was broken to the center for managing crisis situations of the Perm regional department for Emergency Situations at around 10.15 a.m. Moscow time Monday. The ship in distress is in a water reserve in the Kirovsky district of Perm.

Fire brigades are working in the emergency area. The fire was assessed at level "three" on a fire scale.
