Unemployment rates two percent down in Russia

The unemployment rates declined in 69 regions. Maximum improvements were reported in the Republic of Mariy El, Karalla, the Irkutsk and Tomsk regions

MOSCOW, September 28 (Itar-Tass) — Official unemployment rates have dropped by 1.9 percent in Russia over the past week, a source from the Russian Ministry of public health and social development told Itar-Tass.

The unemployment rates declined in 69 regions. Maximum improvements were reported in the Republic of Mariy El, Karalla, the Irkutsk and Tomsk regions.

But, unemployment rates continued to grow in nine other regions, including the Yamal- Nenetsk and Chukotka autonomous districts, the Jewish autonomous region and the Lipetsk region.

The number of the unemployed remained unchanged in Ingushetia, Bryansk, Penza and Saratov regions.
