KIEV, September 28 (Itar-Tass) —— Naftogaz Ukrainy plans to enter into cooperation agreements with the U.S. companies Halliburton and ExxonMobil, as well as with Italy’s ENI, France’s Total and Russia’s Gazprom on September 29, the deputy CEO of the Ukrainian company, Vadim Chuprun, told the Ukrainian weekly Invest in an interview.
"We are negotiating with 19 leading companies in the energy market. At the conference Ukraine-EU: Towards a Common Energy Market "to be held on September 29 in Kiev, we are planning to conclude agreements with five of them: Halliburton and ExxonMobil, the Italian ENI, French Total and Russian Gazprom," he said.
Chuprun said with some of these companies Naftogaz was already discussing the details of the production cycle, "an assessment of resources, the locations of seismic exploration and drilling."
"These companies have shown thier interest in offfshore deposits, in shale deposits in western Ukraine, as well as the recently discovered Yuzovka area,” said Chuprun. “A number of other issues is being discussed, but these are the most crucial ones."
"We hope to significantly increase production of domestic energy resources in the near future," the Naftogaz deputy CEO said.
