VLADIVOSTOK, September 28 (Itar-Tass) — The Chulmanskaya coalmine was suspended in Yakutia, because the falling rock killed an operator of the coal combine, the Rostekhnadzor committee said. The coal combine driver was recovered from under the debris and lifted to the surface on Tuesday, the press service of the Far Eastern regional emergency center reported.
The coalmine incident occurred in the evening on September 26. According the preliminary reports, the coal combine operator was extracting coal and rock collapsed when the coal combine was making a turn. Eight people worked in the shift, seven miners went up to the surface on their own.
