Special task force unit blocks supply route to Chechen gunmen

The road was found near the river Argun

ARGUN /Chechen republic/, September 27 (Itar-Tass) — A special task force unit from Moscow blocked a road in Chechnya used to supply weapons, ammunition and food to militants, deputy battalion commander, Moscow-based special task force center, Dmitry Shchedrov, told Itar-Tass son Tuesday. The road was found near the river Argun.

A checkpoint of the united group of troops in the North Caucasus was set up there, which prevented the militants' movements. The road is open for local residents though.

Local police from the Argun police department are controlling the road together with the Moscow unit. According to the servicemen at the checkpoint, they had sustained no casualties although they had been attacked continuously.
