Art designer Krasnov staying in grave condition at hospital

Boris Krasnov is a defendant in the extortion criminal case and was released on a bail of five million roubles

MOSCOW, September 23 (Itar-Tass) — A well-known art designer Boris Krasnov is staying in grave condition at the Moscow hospital, a source in the Krasnov Design Company named after the foresaid designer told Itar-Tass on Friday.

“Boris Arkadyevich was hospitalized, he is staying in grave condition, but we do not know the details,” the source said, asking the media not to stir up panics. “We hope that he will recover,” the source said.

Boris Krasnov is 50 years old. He worked as an art designer with Alla Pugacheva, Valery Leontyev, Filipp Kirkorov, Iosif Kobzon, Lev Leshchenko, Laima Vaikule, Larisa Dolina, Irina Allegrova, Alexander Malinin, Valery Meladze, Alexander Rozenbaum and many other Russian entertainers.

He is a defendant in the extortion criminal case and was released on a bail of five million roubles.

The director of the department of foreign economic relations of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Sergei Shilov, who is accused of extortion, the deputy chief of the department of exhibitions in the Ministry of Industry and Trade Yuri Bogdanov, the deputy general director of the non-profit partnership that is the sport news agency of the Russian Olympic Committee Oleg Litoshenko and a lawyer of the Magma Company Ivan Dunayev are also the defendants in the criminal case. All of them are put under arrest.

The detectives believe that in July-August 2011 Krasnov as a member of the organized group was blackmailing the general director of the Inconnect Group to pass into his possession the full charter capital of the company, which is estimated to possess more than five million roubles.

The company confirmed a hostile takeover attempt. “For the last six months the company was truly exposed to the common pressure from an organized group seeking for a hostile takeover through changing the lineup of founders. The accused threatened the top management of the Inconnect Group, hampered the execution of the previously concluded contracts to hold exhibitions, threatened the distribution of the deliberately false information, which can allegedly inflict the damage to the reputation of the company,” the press service of the Krasnov Design company reported.

The Inconnect Group is specialized in arranging congresses and exhibitions in Russia and other countries, consulting and information services to Russian companies, including a Russian stand at the World Specialized Exhibition EXPO-2008 in Zaragoza (Spain) and the Russian national exhibition in Paris in 2010.
