MOSCOW, September 23 (Itar-Tass) — A police officer has accidentally burnt three police cars worth about 900,000 roubles, a spokesman for the Moscow department of the Russian Investigations Committee told Itar-Tass on Friday.
According to investigators, while making his rounds late on August 14, the officer on duty of the police department in the Kashira district approached police cars with their petrol caps off. “As a result of his mishandling fire petrol gases caught fire. The fire completely destroyed three service cars worth more than 860,000 roubles,” the spokesman said.
A criminal case was opened against the unfortunate man. Later he was released under a recognizance not to leave.
