Zambia’s opposition leader elected president

The election results were announced by Vice-President and Justice Minister George Kunda

PRETORIA, September 23 (Itar-Tass) —— Zambia's opposition leader Michael Sata was declared the winner of the presidential elections on Friday, defeating incumbent Rupiah Banda.

The election results were announced by Vice-President and Justice Minister George Kunda.

Sata ran for president for the fourth time at the election held on Tuesday.
