VLADIVOSTOK, September 21 (Itar-Tass) — Virtually half of living quarters in Russia’s Far Eastern city of Vladivostok was left without water supplies after an electricity failure on Wednesday.
Cuts in electricity supplies stopped water pumping to Vladivostok’s Pervomaisky, Leninsky, and parts of the Pervorechensky districts, the press service of DRSK – Primorsky Electric Grids said.
According to preliminary information, the accident took place because of unauthorized works under a power transmission line that caused a break in wires.
Repair teams have been commissioned to find and remedy the breakage. The line runs about 25 kilometers through forests.
According to the Vladivostok administration, water supplies will be resumed by morning on September 22.
