Five journalists on staff of BBC television arrested in Iran

TEHERAN, September 19 (Itar-Tass) — The Iranian authorities have arrested five journalists who work for the British BBC television channel broadcasting in Farsi.

The journalists were arrested for broadcasting video and text information of negative character which pertains to the Islamic republic. The names of the arrested journalists were not made public.

The Iranian authorities blockaded the TV channel, accusing it of provoking mass disturbances which were already staged in Iran after the 2009 presidential election.
