EU assigns 31 mln euros in support to Ukraine’s energy strategy

The European Union assigns the first tranche in support to Ukraine’s energy strategy for the period until 2030

KIEV, September 16 (Itar-Tass) —— The European Union assigns the first tranche in support to Ukraine’s energy strategy for the period until 2030, which will be approved in the final edition by the end of this year, Chairman of the Ukrainian State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving Nikolai Pashkevich said on Friday.

He said the tranche would amount to 31 million euros.

“The money will fund the fulfillment of the state program of energy efficiency and renewable fuel in the period of 2010-2015,” he said.

The program of that period is bound to bring the energy intensity of Ukraine’s GDP to the level of developed nations and EU standards and to increase the efficiency of use of energy resources.
