Chances to end WTO talks in 2011 slim but still exist – Nabiullina

“The probability of ending this process by the yearend, as we have planned, is very small, but it still exists,” she said

SOCHI, September 16 (Itar-Tass) —— Chances to end the negotiations on the Russian accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) this year are small but they still exist, Economic Development Minister Elvira Nabiullina said on Friday.

“The probability of ending this process by the yearend, as we have planned, is very small, but it still exists,” she said. The minister confirmed the opinion that the Russian entry into the WTO might stretch out for long if the deadlines were not met. “I think that the risk is very large,” she remarked.

The biggest disagreement with the European partners at present is the car assembly regime, Nabiullina said. In her opinion, that decision must be taken together with the decision on the access to the Russian meat market.
