Vladimir Putin attends Sochi-2011innovation projects exhibition

Putin appreciated the plans to organise the innovative company

SOCHI, September 16 (Itar-Tass) — Russia’s Prime Minister Vladimir Putin visited the Sochi-2011 International investment forum and the exhibition of innovation projects, presented by various regions.

For example, Chechnya, Kabardino-Balkaria, Ingushetia and Adygeya demonstrated their projects to prime minister.

North Ossetia presented a project to organise the Caucasus silicon company, which products are planned to be used for solar energy production. Presently, the republic is attracting investments in the project.

Putin appreciated the plans to organise the innovative company.

“Excellent. Malicious are those unable to understand the reality,” he said. “Educational level in Ossetia is very high, that is why the base is good for the company, and the project is quite doable.”

Dagestan presented an innovative project in agriculture. Putin saw a layout of a complex, which will unite a vegetable cellar, a storage facility for sugar beet, several plants, including a flour-grinding one and a formula-feed plant, as well as a logistics centre.

The Volgograd Region prepared an investment project, devoted to participation of that region in preparations for the World Football Championship, which Russia will host in 2018.

The region demonstrated to the prime minister another project, called Uryupinsk – Capital of Russian Province. The exposition was decorated with fluffy shawls. The prime minister saw a small tractor, which was wrapped beautifully, in a fluffy shawl. “Beautiful,” he commented.

The idea of the exposition is that various events of international scale, like the Sochi international investment forum, may be organised in other cities of Russia, like, for example, Uryupinsk. Visitors of the exposition received bags and T-shirts which carried the slogan: “I will forget everything to move to Uryupinsk.” Putin received an invitation to visit the city. The participants in the exhibition presented to him fluffy hat, gloves and scarf.

“Are you competing with Orenburg?” Putin asked.

“Now, they are competing with us,” was the reply.

/The Orenburg region of Russia is famous for its shawls, known as Orenburg shawls/scarves. In the English-speaking world, they are often called "wedding ring shawls" because, although the shawls are quite large, a shawl knit in the traditional fashion is so fine that it can be pulled through a wedding ring. The shawls are made from a blend of silk and indigenous goat fibre, similar to cashmere or mohair./

At the stand of Vnesheconombank, its CEO Vladimir Dmitriyev told Putin about implementation of the Roza Khutor project.

The Astrakhan Region demonstrated an exposition, devoted to development of the Northern Caspian deposits.

Putin stood at the wheel, which imitated a bridge, and pointed with the wheel at one of the deposits on the map. The screen displayed all information about the deposit.

After that, Putin visited the stand of Sberbank, where the bank’s CEO German Gref demonstrated to Putin several projects: a bicycle ride along Sberbank’s corporate university, a machine selling precious metals coins and a personal financial manager.

CEO of Rosneft Eduard Khudainatov told Putin about the system of distanced monitoring of the company’s production, for example a distanced monitoring of drilling. The map on the stand showed major drilling facilities located throughout the territory from Sakhalin to Krasnodar. Visitors may choose a region to see information on oil wells there. The company also presented at the exhibition its supplies abroad. A small layout, which had several figures of people, demonstrated a miniature pumping station, a filling station, and a system monitoring supplies of oil products abroad. The layout demonstrated inflow of revenues in the form of golden bars, which were transported by a conveyer belt to the building, which was a symbol of the Stabilisation Fund.
