Libya: TNC units enter Bani Walid

Some 1,200 men from Gaddafi’s battalions and tribal troops are defending the city

LONDON, September 16 (Itar-Tass) —— Advance detachments of the Transitional National Council (TNC) entered the city of Bani Walid on Friday morning, the Sky News TV Company of Britain reports.

According to its information, fighting is going on at the outskirts of Bani Walid, situated in the desert south-east of Tripoli. Up till now Bani Walid was under the control of supporters of ousted Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.
