SOCHI, September 16 (Itar-Tass) — Construction of the South Stream gas pipeline across the territory of Ukraine, as Viktor Yanukovich suggests, is of no economic sense, Deputy Chairman of Gazprom’s Board Valery Golubev said on Friday.
“It /Ukraine/ has been suggesting it for a long time,” he said.
The pipeline could cross the Crimea, Golybev said, go to Yevpatoriya and further on to the Black Sea, why doing it instead of laying the pipeline directly? This route could be profitable for Ukraine only, he added.
