MAKHACHKALA, September 16 (Itar-Tass) —— Imam of the mosque in the settlement of Kadar of the Buinaksk region of Dagestan Zainutin Daiziyev, 84, was killed.
As a representative of the Investigation Department of the Russian Investigation Committee for Dagestan told ITAR-TASS, “on Thursday, at about 22.00 Moscow time, unidentified people entered the house of the imam who lived in the settlement of Chankurbe of the Buinaksk region and shot down the priest from submachine-guns.”
Daiziyev died from bullet wounds on the spot. The criminals disappeared from the site of the crime.
Investigation is underway. Criminal proceedings were instituted.
