Russia to launch Soyuz-2 with Glonass satellite on October 1

Apart from that, Colonel Alexei Zolotukhin said that a launch of a Proton-M launch vehicle with a defence satellite is scheduled from Baikonur on September 22

MOSCOW, September 15 (Itar-Tass) — Russia will launch a Soyuz-2 booster with a Glonass-M satellite from the Plesetsk space centre on October 1, a spokesman for the command of the Russian Space Forces said on Thursday.

Apart from that, Colonel Alexei Zolotukhin said that a launch of a Proton-M launch vehicle with a defence satellite is scheduled from Baikonur on September 22.

The two launches will be the first ones after lifting a ban on orbiting Soyuz and Proton vehicles that was imposed following the recent abortive launches of a Progress M-12M cargo spaceship and an Express-AM4 communications satellite.
