KIEV, September 14 (Itar-Tass) — Ukraine has developed its draft budget for 2012 proceeding from a gas import price of 414-416 U.S. dollars per 1,000 cubic meters, Economic Development and Trade Minister Andrei Klyuyev said on Wednesday.
He noted that the gas price is calculated by the formula envisaged by the contracts between Naftogaz Ukrainy and Gazprom of 2009.
“It has been calculated by the formula that was built into the contract by Timoshenko. It will range between 414-416 dollars, this is the weighted average price,” Klyuyev said.
The minister added that Ukraine’s government at the talks with the International Monetary Fund insists on keeping the gas price for the population at the current level.
The draft budget envisages relevant compensation for the difference in price, he said.
