MOSCOW, September 13 (Itar-Tass) —— The rate of emergency situations is declining in Russia, the Emergency Situations Ministry told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.
“The number of emergency situations continues to decline. A total of 213 emergency situations have been registered this year, which is nearly 17% less than a year ago,” the ministry said.
The emergency situations killed 649 people and hurt nearly 2,000 in 2011.
The ministry said it was in control of wildfires. “As of now, twelve forest fires are burning in the Siberian Federal District. Generally, the wildfire situation is stable in the country,” the ministry said.
