All forest fires put out in Tuva

KRASNOYARSK, September 13 (Itar-Tass) ——All the natural fires have been put out in the Republic of Tuva. “There are no fires on the territory of the State Forest Reserve of Tuva,” Vadim Kyzyl-ool, head of the republican committee for forestry, told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.

Up till Tuesday, two fires with a total area of 1,150 hectares remained in the republic. 59 firemen, who used four fire engines, managed to localize both of them. Fire was totally put out on the territory of 400 hectares, of which 200 hectares are forests.

“We are now bringing back the workers of the Tuva committee of air protection for forests from the Kurguntug and Kaa-Khem forestries,” Vadim Kyzyl-ool continued. According to his information, the fires hit the so-called aviation zone and the zone of the first-level space monitoring, which are difficult-of-access areas.

The fire was localized on an overall area of 1,100 hectares on the territory of the Kurguntug forestry. 14 firemen took part in the operation. Residents of the nearby populated localities were mobilized to help them.

A total of 178 hotbeds of natural fires emerged on the territory of Tuva since the beginning of the fire-hazardous period of 2011. Their total area constituted 22,012 hectares.
