MOSCOW, September 9 (Itar-Tass) —— The dead bodies of 39 victims of the crash of the Yak-42 plane near Yaroslavl have been identified, a representative of the Emergencies Ministry (EMERCOM) told Itar-Tass.
“The identification of another four air crash victims is going on. Psychologists are working with their relatives,” he said.
The Yak-42 plane crashed on September 7 soon after the take-off at the airport of Yaroslavl. It had on board the Locomotive ice hockey team, which was flying to Belarus, where it was going to play against Dynamo Minsk. Only two passengers out of 45 survived the air crash – Alexander Galimov, an ice hockey player, and Alexander Sizov, an air steward. They were both taken to Moscow hospitals.
The condition of Alexander Galimov – the ice hockey player, who survived the Yak-42 air crash near Yaroslavl and who was brought for medical treatment to the Vishnevsky Institute of Surgery, continues to be extremely grave, a representative of the Ministry of Health and Social Development told Itar-Tass.
At the same time, the official stressed that the health condition of Galimov is relatively stable, which permits doctors to hope for positive dynamics.
Galimov was brought to Moscow from Yaroslavl by a special plane of the
Emergencies Ministry on Thursday. According to Valery Kubyshkin, director of the Vishnevsky Institute of Surgery, the athlete suffered a traumatic and burn shock. During the air crash he got burns on 90 per cent of his body. Some of them are deep. “We hope with all our hearts that his strong sports constitution will help him pull through,” Kubyshkin said.
Alexander Sizov, air steward of the Yak-42 plane, who also survived the air crash, was brought to Moscow by the same flight. He was put to the Sklifasovsky Institute.
