MOSCOW, September 8 (Itar-Tass) —— Russia’s advantage is in its national diversity, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said at the Global Policy Forum in Yaroslavl on Thursday.
“The Russian historical fate is the combination of the collective creation of all peoples with different languages, cultures and customs,” he said. “This diversity allowed to find the resources, knowledge and strength to find a solution to the most complicated problems at each stage of historical development and made Russia viable, original and powerful,” Medvedev believes.
In his speech the president also noted that “the enforcement of order and law cannot result in the discrimination of any ethnic minority or majority.” “All ethnic cultures in Russia should develop freely. Each citizen should have opportunities, where he or she wants, in any region, otherwise there will be no common country,” he underlined.
