MOSCOW, September 7 (Itar-Tass) —— The Yak-42 plane that crashed near Yaroslavl Wednesday afternoon had been in order before the flight, the federal aviation agency Rosaviatsiya told Itar-Tass.
“Before the flight the plane underwent prompt examination, all the main systems were checked, and no flaws were identified,” the agency’s official said. “The plane’s engines were operational and their resource cycle had not expired yet.”
According to the federal air transport agency, the aircraft had a valid certificate of airworthiness. The last comprehensive inspection of the aircraft was held on August 16 in Kazan.
As Rosaviatsiya said, Yak-42 was built in 1993. It spent in flight 6,233 hours and made 2,997 landings. In all, 63 Yak-42 planes are in service.
The Yak-42 of Yak-Service airlines, which left for Minsk with the ice hockey team Locomotive on board, crashed Wednesday afternoon seconds after taking off from the runway at the airport of Yaroslavl. According to the latest information available from the Emergency Situations Ministry, on board the plane there were 45 people. Only two of were found alive and taken to hospital.
