Medvedev offers condolences to relatives, fans of Locomotive hockey club

Vladislav Surkov briefed the president on the accident and the measures that were being taken to provide assistance to those affected

MOSCOW, September 7 (Itar-Tass) —— Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has offered his condolences to the relatives and all fans of Yaroslavl’s Locomotive ice hockey club players, who died in an air crash near Yaroslavl two hours ago, presidential press-secretary Natalia Timakova said.

The first deputy chief of the presidential staff, Vladislav Surkov, briefed the president on the accident and the measures that were being taken to provide assistance to those affected.

On presidential instructions Surkov and the presidential representative in the Central Federal District have left for the site of the crash. Medvedev asked the government to take all the necessary organizational measures and issued instructions to the Investigative Committee and other government agencies to take the necessary measures to investigate the incident|.
