MOSCOW, September 6 (Itar-Tass) —— The political and media adviser of the President of Syria, Bouthaina Shaaban, will visit Moscow in the near future, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported on Tuesday.
“On September 12, Shaaban will tell Russian and foreign journalists about the situation in Syria,” the ministry’s spokesman said.
The spokesman reminded that Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov met with the ambassador of Syria to Moscow on Monday. “During a talk, the sides discussed issues of development of Russian-Syrian bilateral relations, the situation in Syria and around it, as well as regional and international topical problems,” the ministry’ s spokesman said.
Bogdanov confirmed that Russia’s principled stand on the “inadmissibility of the external interference in Syria’ s affairs, the necessity of the full cessation of any violence in the country and the speediest implementation of the announced political and socio-economic reforms, as well as the beginning of a broad national dialogue with the participation of the opposition,” the ministry’s spokesman said.
