KIEV, September 5 (Itar-Tass) — Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry is checking the information about Ukraine’s citizens captured in Libya, the ministry’s press service said on Monday.
According to mass media, armed groups of Libya’s Transitional National Council detained 19 Ukrainian citizens on suspicion of offering military assistance to Muammar Gaddafi. Those detained are accused of taking part in the military operation in the troops loyal to Muammar Gaddafi as snipers.
The Ukrainians have already been kept in a training centre on the territory of Tripoli for several days.
All of them deny accusations saying they worked as cooks and oil sector employees.
