Moscow region police suspected of abduction in Smolensk regio

The abducted person was released later after the ransom was paid and the second abductee is also free now

MOSCOW, September 2 (Itar-Tass) —— The Moscow regional police are suspected of abduction in the Smolensk Region, a source in the Russian Investigation Committee told Itar-Tass on Friday.

“A senior inspector of the Moscow regional investigation department and an inspector of the Yuzhny police department in the Moscow Region abducted two local residents for a ransom from the relatives and brought them to the Moscow Region,” the source said.

The abducted person was released later after the ransom was paid and the second abductee is also free now.

“Two kidnappers were detained and the investigators initiated the criminal proceedings to put the latter under arrest. All necessary investigation actions are being taken to gather evidence and find all accomplices,” the source said.
