MOSCOW, September 1 (Itar-Tass) — Attempts to ignore the G-20 decision on deep reforms of the international monetary and financial system are extremely dangerous, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
In the meeting with students and professors of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) on Thursday, Lavrov said, “The effects of the financial-economic crisis have not been overcome yet. There is a danger in slowdown in the world economic growth.”
“That is why attempts to ignore the G-20 decision on deep reforms of the monetary and financial system are extremely dangerous,” the Russian minister said.
“The G-20 should not relax its coordinated efforts by making them transparent and understandable for other countries, particularly through the U.N. mechanisms,” he stressed.
“Russia definitely pursued the foreign policy towards the long-term development and modernisation of the economy and society. We maintain mutually advantageous partnership with Europe, the United States, Asia-Pacific countries and other regions on the bilateral and multilateral basis,” Lavrov said.
