200 law-enforcement personnel killed in NCaucasus in 2011

Nurgaliyev cited the figures at a conference at the Interior Ministry on Wednesday

MOSCOW, August 31 (Itar-Tass) — Russian Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev said more than 200 police and interior troops have been killed in the North Caucasus since the beginning of this year, and more than 800 have been wounded.

Nurgaliyev cited the figures at a conference at the Interior Ministry on Wednesday.

«Since January 1, 2011 207 police officers and interior troops servicemen have died in the region; of those, 106 have been killed during anti-terrorist operations; 826 have been wounded, including 201 who have been wounded in anti-terrorist operations," the minister said.
