MOSCOW, August 30 (Itar-Tass) — A fire engulfed 1,000 square meters of the all-Russia exhibition centre, a spokesman for the Emergency Situations Ministry's department for Moscow told Itar-Tass.

"Updated reports said consumer goods caught fire at the trade pavilion with an animal clinic at the entrance. In all, pavilion # 56 is ablaze. "It's an old one-story building," spokesman Yevgeny Bobylyov told Itar-Tass.

Twenty fire-fighting teams are combating the blaze.

Bobylyov said a gas cylinder had exploded because of intense heat.

Earlier, law-enforcement bodies told Itar-Tass that the veterinary pavilion was on fire.
