MOSCOW, August 29 (Itar-Tass) — The tricoloured flag of Libya’s National Transitional Council (NTC) was hoisted up a flagpole at the Libyan Embassy to Moscow on Monday.
Prior to the ceremony embassy staffers lined up, and the flag was brought on a gold tray. “Blood was shed for the freedom, future and the soil of Libya in the course of dramatic events,” Consul Ali Abu Bakr said at the ceremony. “Embassy staffers reflect the opinion of the whole people,” he said.
According to him, the developments in the country “are very important, we must summon all strength to build a new Libya, democracy and freedom”. “We have sided with the Transitional Council,” he stressed.
