MOSCOW, August 27 (Itar-Tass) —— Two gunmen, who were blocked at a private house in Gadzhiyev Street in Derbent on Friday, surrendered to the law enforcement agencies on Saturday, spokesman for the information center of the National Anti-Terrorism Committee Nikolai Sintsov told Itar-Tass on Saturday.
“In the pursuit on Friday the gunmen were blocked at a private house, which was abandoned by the dwellers timely. The gunmen were talked into surrender to the authorities as a result of the negotiations involving their relatives on Saturday morning. They went out of the house and laid down their submachine guns voluntarily,” Sintsov said. According to the law enforcement agencies, both bandits “are members of the Derbent terrorist group” and were involved in the fire at the FSB department in Derbent on Friday and laid down arms at about 11.30 a.m. Moscow time on Saturday.
The detectives found that three gunmen hijacked a VAZ-21099 car at about 2.45 p.m. Moscow time on Friday on the outskirts of Derbent in the Sukhaya Rechka district.
